What is a training plan? Why do I need it for my apprentice or trainee?
How will training and assessment happen? When will it occur? Where will training and assessment take place? Who will conduct the training and assessment? Your training plan will answer all of these questions.
Training plans are negotiated between the Registered Training Organisation (RTO), employer and apprentice/trainee at the beginning of the training contract. This document will show what units your apprentice/trainee will study and the how, when, where and who of training and assessment.
It's important that as an employer you are involved in negotiating this to enable you to best support your apprentice/trainee through their training.
The training plan is a 'live' document, meaning that you are able to change it through the term of the apprenticeship/traineeship and your RTO must review the training plan with you and your apprentice/trainee at least three times a year.
