The training contract between the employer and apprentice/trainee is a legally binding contract, and often requires amendments. This means, any amendment to the contract needs to be by application to the Tasmanian Traineeships and Apprenticeships Committee (TTAC), be by mutual consent of both employer and apprentice/trainee, and cannot take effect until that application has been approved. Examples of training contract amendments may include:
-
Extension of Probation (particularly if you require further time to assess suitability) (TTAC Guideline 1)
-
Suspension (TTAC Guideline 3)
-
Cancellation (or termination of the training contract) (TTAC Guideline 2)
-
Transfer of Registered Training Organisation (TTAC Policy 1)
-
Variation of hours (e.g. change from part-time to full-time)

To request amendment applications you should contact your Australian Apprenticeships Centre (AAC) who will provide you with the appropriate application.
If you have any questions regarding amendments to training contracts you should contact your AAC, Skills Tasmania or Kerryn Long, TCCI's Education and Training Adviser.
