Mentally Healthy Workplaces

Take Action Now!
beyondblue has launched an Australian-first national campaign in conjunction with the Mentally Healthy Workplace Alliance to encourage Australia’s business leaders to take action on mental health. The campaign has been launched as a growing body of evidence points to savings businesses can make by enhancing the mental health of their staff ($10.9 billion a year as measured by a recent PricewaterhouseCoopers report).
The study shows there is a significant return on investment for well-placed strategies around improving the mental health of employees.
It’s becoming clear that Australian businesses need to start treating their employee’s mental health as seriously as they treat physical health and safety. The campaign’s centrepiece is the Heads Up website where business leaders access tools and resources and register to learn how to make their workplace more mentally healthy, productive and profitable. A first-of-its kind action plan has been unveiled on the website to allow businesses to create tailor-made mental health plans to implement in their workplaces to ensure they are progressing towards workplaces that are as mentally healthy as possible.
TCCI is throwing our support behind the initiative and encourages all businesses big and small to pledge their commitment to workplace mental health at the Heads Up website
