The Tasmanian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (TCCI) says its latest survey of business expectations is a major wake-up call for all Tasmanian politicians regardless of their party.

TCCI Chief Executive Officer Robert Wallace said the Tasmanian electorate was sick and tired of the daily „spin and hype‟ from all sides of politics.

"This is being used to discredit each other almost on a daily basis, both in Parliament and in the media. While this is occurring, our politicians are not getting on with finding solutions to our financial crisis.

"Yes there is a need for a strong opposition and strong debate, but what this State needs right now are solutions, not rhetoric.

"Each and every politician was elected by the Tasmanian people, to contribute to ensuring Tasmania is run in a sound manner - financially, socially and environmentally.

"Our question to each individual member of the Tasmanian Parliament is

"If you don‟t know the answer to that question, then you have from now until the next state election to find an answer. Indeed, that answer will more than likely NOT come from any spin or rhetoric that your party may deliver.

"The answer may come from discussions you have within your electorate and with the people who may vote for you at the next election."

Mr Wallace said the State was fed up with the bickering.

"What is needed are politicians who have answers to our problems and that have the fortitude to have those answers implemented."
