TCCI supports Southern Outlet plan

Release Date: 24/09/2021
The Tasmanian Chamber of Commerce and Industry is urging Tasmanians to have their say on the proposed changes to Hobart’s Southern Outlet.  The community consultation process ends this Monday.

“The TCCI sees this project as an important one for the south of the State,” said TCCI CEO, Michael Bailey.

“It’s vital that the Government engages with the community and key stakeholders when planning significant projects like this and we congratulate them for providing a detailed briefing to us and answering questions from our members.

“The TCCI supports the additional lane on the Southern Outlet because it has the potential to provide significant benefits to the business community.  It has the potential to reduce commute times, help employees get to work efficiently and reduce congestion.  The TCCI also supports expanding and improving public transport connections between the Hobart CBD and the Kingborough region.”
