Now is not the time to be complacent about COVID

Release Date: 3/07/2021

The Tasmanian Chamber of Commerce and Industry is again urging all Tasmanian businesses to use the Check In TAS App and QR code system to help protect Tasmanians from COVID.

“Tasmania has been extremely fortunate in terms of being able to contain the spread of COVID. Much of this is the result of measures that have been put in place,” TCCI CEO Michael Bailey said today.

“But with restrictions having been implemented in numerous states and territories across Australia in recent weeks, now is not the time to be complacent.”

“So today I’m again asking every Tasmanian business to use the app at their premises,” Mr Bailey said.

“The best way to tackle COVID is by being vigilant. With QR codes the Government can quickly track and trace any outbreak and stop the spread. We are also asking businesses to remind employees not to come to work if they are unwell and to check with their GP if a COVID test is recommended. And of course it’s more important than ever to make sure the basics like hand sanitizer are available and being utilised.”

For businesses needing help with using the Check In TAS App, support is available through Business Tasmania.
