TCCI working with Government on Make Yourself at Home campaign

Release Date: 11/06/2020
The TCCI is working closely with Government on its new campaign to boost local tourism.
The Government’s ‘Make Yourself at Home’ campaign was a vital boost for home-grown tourism businesses, said TCCI Chief Operations Officer, Colleen Reardon.
“Like many small businesses, Tasmania’s tourism sector has been hit hard by COVID-19,” Ms Reardon said.
“The campaign launched by Government will go a long way to help rebuild confidence in the sector.  We welcome this campaign and call on Tasmanians to make themselves at home and support local businesses.
“The new tourism campaign’s website is linked to the TCCI’s Buy Something Tasmanian platform.  Any Tasmanian tourism business that wants to be part of the Make Yourself at Home campaign simply has to sign up at and list their business for free.  Any business that needs assistance joining the platform is encouraged to call our hotline on 1300 559 112.
“While our borders remain closed, it’s up to Tasmanians to throw their support behind local businesses.  We would encourage all Tasmanians to plan a getaway over the next few weeks.
“Tasmanians should make themselves at home this winter and rediscover what makes our State so special.  While we’re at it, we should make ourselves at home and visit all the small businesses along the way.  If we support local businesses now, we can help them in the lead up to the return of interstate visitors.”
