Swift action by the State Government to provide $250,000 for training in the advanced manufacturing sector has been welcomed by the Tasmanian Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
"It's terrific to hear that government has listened to business and acted on one of last week's discussions at the manufacturing summit in Burnie," TCCI CEO Michael Bailey said today.
The $250,000 tender is a great start to assist the manufacturing sector in the North West and the state overall. "
Mr Bailey said that today's announcement was a confidence boost for workers facing an otherwise bleak future, as well as the 140 attendees at last week's summit who can now see that the government is serious about creating a new advanced manufacturing strategy.
