More good news with release of TCCI Survey of Business Expectations
The Tasmanian Chamber of Commerce and Industry’s quarterly Tasmanian Survey of Business Expectations shows business prospects are beginning to improve, with an increase in employment in the North and South.
‘Unemployment is lowest in the South, and the North appears to be in a holding pattern regarding employment. The North West, while high, the unemployment rate is stable,’ said TCCI CEO Michael Bailey.
‘What we are seeing is an increase in participation rates in the South, with the North West showing a large jump. While unemployment remains low in the North West, it shows that people are actively looking for work.’
‘The Tasmanian economy is stable, according to respondents, in all regions, and is improving. While not overly positive or negative, the South appears to be more positive than elsewhere.
‘20% of respondents said they took advantage, in part or in full, of the $20,000 tax break offered by the Federal Government, in all three regions and across industry sectors.’
