PEAK business organisation, the Tasmanian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (TCCI) has welcomed the decision by Grange Resources to move its head office to Burnie.
TCCI Chief Executive Michael Bailey said the move by Grange was a clear sign of confidence in Tasmania and the company’s management and workforce.
Mr Bailey congratulated Grange Resources’s Managing Director Wayne Bould who would lead the company from its Burnie office.
“Grange is an important contributor to the Tasmanian economy and is a key player in our mining and resources industry,” he said.
“Moving its head office to Burnie will increase the company’s focus on this State and could lead to increased exploration and mining activity.
“The move is welcomed by the Tasmanian business community and will be welcomed by people throughout the State,” Mr Bailey said.
