Business mourns Michael Hodgman’s passing
PEAK employer organisation, the Tasmanian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (TCCI)
has expressed sadness on behalf of the Tasmanian business community at the passing
of former parliamentarian Michael Hodgman.
TCCI Chief Executive Michael Bailey said Mr Hodgman was a passionate supporter of
Tasmanian enterprise and particularly supportive of small business operators.
“Whether in Federal or State Parliament, Michael was always prepared to stand up for
Tasmania and his passion for and commitment to our State will be sorely missed,” Mr
Bailey said.
“Michael helped business people throughout the State and he was always ready to
assist in resolving difficulties or meeting challenges.
“He was a unique person and his service to his constituents and to Tasmania was
immense.
“On behalf of the TCCI and the Tasmanian business community, I convey our sincere
condolences to his son Will and all the Hodgman family,” Mr Bailey said.
